Congratulations to Sign on Screen partner, Dr Ramas McRae, for his award of Best Short Documentary at the 2026 Clin d’oeil sign language arts festival in Reims, France for his film Eye of the Game. A moving portrait of Deaf Australian footballer Ryan Emerson, Eye of the Game is almost entirely in Auslan, is part of the AFL’s Footy Shorts program and screened at Opening Night of the Sign on Screen Festival in May 2026. It’s been a big year for Ramas, who was also awarded his PhD from Deakin University recently. Well done, Ramas!
