A sneak peak into forthcoming Sign on Screen publications: Sofya Gollan and Gemma King have signed a contract with Bloomsbury Academic’s Film and Media list, to co-author a book about how sign language and deafness are represented in global film and television. They will explore the tropes, assumptions and fantasies that play out in the (mostly hearing-led) stories told about sign language and deafness on screen.
